What if I told you a way to substantially save you money for the rest of your life with one simple choice? What if that choice would also make you healthier?
Here is the secret: Waterless Cookware!
I have a passion for food and healthy eating and being a Southern Gal, I also have a deep love for comfort foods. Being able to cook foods without diluting their vital nutrients with water has given my meat and vegetables more value and more FLAVOR. It's amazing how good everything actually tastes!
I love my waterless cookware and how it has improved the way I prepare foods.
It is an investment for a lifetime as all the women will testify in my family. They all bought waterless cookware over 50 years ago and still cook with it today. Value, form and function this great needs to be shared.
Just think how much we cut down on landfill space by using the same cookware for the rest of our lives? This is one baby step to living greener and healthier!
My first experience when trying out my new purchase was a basic Pot Roast: I browned the roast coated in the spices and herbs I prefer, added cut up potatoes, carrots, and onions. As per instructions, turned the heat to medium and closed the lid. In no time, the little clicker on the lid was clicking and you turn it to low. Let it go like that until you think it is done. I let it cook for a couple of hours. Every so often I would hear that little clicker letting out a touch of steam. When I opened the lid, to my surprise it was half way up the meat in juices! I had added NO WATER! This was juice from the meat and vegetables. It was the most delicious roast we have ever tasted and it has become a family favorite!
Just today, years later, my comfort food desire kicked up and I wanted a potato. I took one tablespoon of garlic infused butter and coated the bottom of this little sauce pan pictured above. Peeled and cut up one Idaho Golden Potato and closed the lid. Turned the heat to medium until I heard the click. I did peak in and turned the chunks over and replaced the lid. Turned the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes. It was perfect, tender and so full of flavor! It was hard to let it cool before eating it!
It's amazing to take frozen vegetables and place them side by side in the same pot and cook them this way. They will not run together because they steam in their own moisture and have the most incredible intensity to their specific flavors. Not to mention all the nutrient value that is not cooked away!
So my suggestion of the day is invest in a good stainless steel set of waterless cookware and enjoy healthy, easy cooking for the rest of your life! And thank you for taking one more step to a greener world for us all!
Bon Apatite and continue to live Green!
