I'm A Foodie. How 'bout You?
Come and Join Me, Be A Foodie Too!
My Pantry is full of Pasta. I'm crazy about Italian Food. I think of it as puritanical. Italians enjoy natural flavors and it brings good things to the table. I think it is safe to say, and my family and friends will back me up on this, that I am obsessed with Italian things. How I didn't end up with an Italian man is only because I won the lottery with the American Husband I have now. He is truly the best and a major foodie as well. He is not as enamored with Italian cuisine as I am, but we do love good food. Meat dinners, fresh produce and fine desserts are always on our minds! TRUST me on this!
Above is my lunch bowl of bow tie pasta. I boil water with a splash of olive oil, a tablespoon of coarse sea salt and a tablespoon of garlic powder. When the pasta is al dente, remove and drain. I have a nice spoon full of real butter in a bowl, toss in the pasta and I can't eat it fast enough! Some days I add a spoon of basil pesto but most of the time I do not add a garnish or sauce. It is delicious! Try it, I know you will love it.
When we plan vacations, it is around the food experiences.
We have a gastronomical scale we measure the experiences with!
Taste is #1, Portion Amount is #2, Attention to our needs keeping our drinks coming #3 (either keep that tea glass full or those alcoholic beverages never ending!), and Ambiance of the place is #4. Screaming babies or children in a bar setting is a pet peeve. Why would you bring kids into the bar side of a restaurant? It irks us as adults who want to show respect and set a good example around children but act like the real dumb asses we are around other adults doing the same. Can't see table dancing with youngsters in the room! Put's a real damper on our behavior. Second pet peeve is the small group that talks so loud, no one else can have a conversation! If it's a sports bar, we expect the whole bar to join in, but if it is a private club or restaurant, don't show your ill manners towards others by dominating the sound rights in the room!If the desire to tour cheese farms, wineries, farmer's markets and good restaurants dominate your itinerary on your travels then you have the heart of a foodie! I would love for you to share your experiences, photos, recipes or comments!
