Glass Containers Instead of Plastic

I'm on a mission. Every time I can use glass instead of plastic I am saving the landfill and improving my carbon footprint.

Remember back in the day when the refrigerator was a new convenience and in it were all these glass containers with lids? I am in search for as many of those still existing as I can find. Yard sales and flea markets sport them occasionally and I bring home my prize!

Take a moment and look through your home. Your cabinets are no doubt full of plastic containers and your pantry will have zip lock bags and plastic food wrap. I took all of my plastic containers and donated them to charity (instead of throwing them away in the landfill!) and started using glass containers with lids. These are easy to wash and store and make me feel good about my leftovers! They are also beautiful and range from plain-janes to very artistic designs and colors.

This is just one tiny step in living green but each step is forward in motion.
