We built a tent frame over the dog house, covered it with a wind proof tarp and inserted a light for warmth.
It looks like the boy scouts are camping in my back yard at night!
Remember to furnish fresh water EVERY day when it is freezing. Pets can not get the amount of hydration needed to survive by licking ice in a frozen bucket. More protein in their diet will help stabilize their metabolism and improve circulation to keep warmer. Wind chill hurts them as much as it would us so protection from bone chilling wind gusts is a must! Extra bedding in their sleeping quarters help to insulate their body heat. Beef up the shavings, blankets or what ever you use to keep your pets toasty warm against old man winter!
Remember, our pets love us unconditionally so take extra steps when caring for them when the weather is especially challenging.
Their Survival Depends on YOU!
Winter Weather is Here so Bundle Up and Be Smart!
